John 14:16-18
King James Version
16 And I will pray the Father,
and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him not,
neither knoweth him:
but ye know him;
for he dwelleth with you,
and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless:
I will come to you.
Before I became born again, I had already been having strange and powerful dreams and images -- for decades.
One very important, and telling dream, was of being in a dilapidated home.
And seeing a precarious flight of steps (more like narrow steps, cantilevered against the wall, which led up to a landing, and a doorway filled with light.
Those steps were just about enough to accommodate one foot at a time.
That meant, to be able to go up, it's literally "one foot in front of the other".
And against that wall holding the steps, was an ILLUSTRATION of a WHITE dove.
I knew what the white dove stood for, from having been brought up a Catholic.
It stood for the HOLY SPIRIT.
But it was only when I surrendered everything to God, did my life change radically for the better.
I, who felt had read the books that mattered, ended up feeling like I didn't know anything.
And when God led me to the BIBLE, that's when I started to know something.
Now, I only read SCRIPTURE -- so I will be guided accurately.
Now, things make sense -- the dreams, warnings, and observations.
Now, my whole life -- all the strange, challenging experiences -- began to make sense.
JESUS gave us the Holy Spirit as "Comforter", and as "Spirit of truth".
The Holy Spirit was Jesus' way to "come to us".
That He may remind us of the commands He gave us.
John 14:26
King James Version
26 But the Comforter,
which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
Now we see why JESUS commanded us not to speak against the HOLY SPIRIT.
For we will not be forgiven.
"neither in this world, neither in the world to come".
That's what Scripture calls the unforgivable sin.
All articles on this 16th blog will reveal the GREAT importance of the HOLY SPIRIT.
And why we are to recognize, respect, and revere Him.
"Him"?
The Holy spirit is a "HE"?
You will find out in the next posts as you go along.
It's crucial we finally know the TRUTH of the HOLY SPIRIT.
And give the love, honor, and obedience due Him.
