FRUIT of the SPIRIT

 

Galatians 5:22-23

King James Version

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, 

longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: 

against such there is no law.

Why do many born again don't act as true born again?

Why do many mislead others?

Why won't they accept correction?

Why do many seem "blind"?

Why are many too proud?

Those questions roamed in my heart all afternoon yesterday.

And I was stumped for an answer.

Even as the answers were hovering somewhere.

But I couldn't grasp it.

Just yet.

So I prayed, slept, and rested.

Come morning, SPIRIT led me to the answer.

It was a set of verses I had on my desk, all along

I had copied it from the Bible.

For it reminded me of my beloved baby sister's nature.

She had rejoined JESUS over 16 months ago.

The answers were literally in front of me.

I thank SPIRIT for the answer.

Which turned out to be just TWO words.

Those who did not act as true born again have set aside TWO particular fruit of the SPIRIT:

Galatians 5:22-23

King James Version

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, 

longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: 

against such there is no law.

"Meekness" and "temperance".

Without these, people would keep making excuses.

You see, everything comes from the SPIRIT of GOD.

Without guidance from SPIRIT, people did these:

Galatians 5:19-21

King James Version

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, 

which are these; 

Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, 

emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness,

 revellings, and such like: 

of the which I tell you before, 

as I have also told you in time past, 

that they which do such things 

shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

How did other Bible versions define "meekness" and "temperance"?

In SUMMARY, "meekness" means:

Gentleness (meekness, humility)

gentle

Mildness

being gentle

Anavah (meekness, shiflut, lowliness)

In SUMMARY, "temperance" means:

self-control

self-control (self-restraint, continence)

self-controlled

faith, modesty, continency, chastity

temperancy

having control of oneself

being the boss over our own desires

shlitah atzmi (self-control)

keeping the body under control

temperance, continence, chastity

Without "meekness" and "temperance", man would not be teachable.

Only the HOLY SPIRIT can teach us perfectly.

Through the life lived by JESUS.

A living example of simplicity, humility, holiness, focus, faith, and obedience.

Philippians 2:7-10

King James Version

7 But made himself of no reputation, 

and took upon him the form of a servant, 

and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, 

he humbled himself, 

and became obedient unto death, 

even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, 

and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, 

of things in heaven, 

and things in earth, 

and things under the earth;

By ourselves, we don't have the power to be meek, and disciplined.

We need SPIRIT.

For He is a GIFT from GOD.

John 14:26

King James Version

26 But the Comforter, 

which is the Holy Ghost, 

whom the Father will send in my name, 

he shall teach you all things, 

and bring all things to your remembrance, 

whatsoever I have said unto you.

Not in a THOUSAND years

 

Ephesians 5:15-17

King James Version

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, 

not as fools, 

but as wise,

16 Redeeming the time, 

because the days are evil.

17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, 

but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

What becomes possible, when you work with the Holy Spirit of God?

If you work for God, all things become possible.

Matthew 19:26

26 But Jesus beheld them, 

and said unto them, 

With men this is impossible; 

but with God all things are possible.

If you're a workman, and writer like me, your productivity soars.

I was so amazed at the volume and wealth of material the Holy Spirit led me to create, under His grace, and guidance.

I only saw more proof once I started gathering articles we've worked on together, for a tab called, "GOD's WILL", for another blog.

Thinking a few articles would make up the tab, I was totally surprised when relevant articles kept showing up, wanting to get included.

So, from over 20 blogs Spirit and I have created, we gathered quite a bunch of articles focusing on God's WILL, consisting of:

-- 105 full articles

-- 25 short posts

That's 130 posts Spirit and I created together -- among MANY other subjects -- with the Lord choosing a verse, or lots of verses, relevant to the ideas Spirit prompted me to write.

Couldn't have done that in a thousand years!

Only through the Holy Spirit was I able to accomplish that.

Ephesians 3:20

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly 

above all that we ask or think, 

according to the power that worketh in us,

I'm barely into my second year as born again, and yet when you dearly desire to know EVERYTHING about God, to serve Him alone, to listen closely to His heart -- which is JESUS, and to be taught by the Holy Spirit of God, you will truly be amazed!

By myself, I couldn't have done it.

Not in a thousand years.

Not ever.

I suppose you can say I was able to write a lot of material on God's will, for I was following HIS WILL.

Things are really as simple as that.

ALL GLORY belongs to GOD alone.

WHEN was the HOLY SPIRIT Given?

 

JESUS said:

John 14:16 

King James Version

16 And I will pray the Father, 

and he shall give you another Comforter, 

that he may abide with you for ever;

When was the Holy Spirit given to believers?

Scripture very clearly states the following:

The living water was to be given when Jesus would be glorified.

John 7:37-39 (KJV)

37 In the last day, 

that great day of the feast, 

Jesus stood and cried, saying, 

If any man thirst, 

let him come unto me, 

and drink.

38 He that believeth on me, 

as the scripture hath said, 

out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, 

which they that believe on him should receive: 

for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; 

because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

It was only when Jesus left, that the Comforter could come unto believers.

John 16:7 (KJV)

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; 

It is expedient for you that I go away: 

for if I go not away, 

the Comforter will not come unto you; 

but if I depart, 

I will send him unto you.

The Holy Spirit had to come for the following reasons:

John 16:8-15 (KJV)

8 And when he is come, 

he will reprove* the world of sin, 

and of righteousness, 

and of judgment:

9 Of sin, 

because they believe not on me;

10 Of righteousness, 

because I go to my Father, 

and ye see me no more;

11 Of judgment, 

because the prince of this world is judged.

12 I have yet many things to say unto you, 

but ye cannot bear them now.

13 Howbeit when he, 

the Spirit of truth, 

is come, 

he will guide you into all truth: 

for he shall not speak of himself; 

but whatsoever he shall hear, 

that shall he speak: 

and he will shew you things to come.

14 He shall glorify me: 

for he shall receive of mine, 

and shall shew it unto you.

15 All things that the Father hath are mine: 

therefore said I, 

that he shall take of mine, 

and shall shew it unto you.

*Reprove means to admonish, censure, or correct.

On Being ENDUED with POWER from on HIGH

 

JESUS said:

Luke 24:49 

King James Version

49 And, behold, 

I send the promise of my Father upon you: 

but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, 

until ye be endued with power from on high.

This is essential believer's tool kit.

Of waiting to be "endued with power from on high".

By ourselves, we might fail, and fumble.

But "endued with power from on high", we cannot possibly fail, or fumble.

For the SPIRIT of GOD is in us.

Here's another example from JESUS, in SCRIPTURE, of waiting to be "endued with power from on high":

Matthew 10:16-20 (KJV)

16 Behold, 

I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: 

be ye therefore wise as serpents, 

and harmless as doves.

17 But beware of men: 

for they will deliver you up to the councils, 

and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, 

for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

19 But when they deliver you up, 

take no thought how or what ye shall speak: 

for it shall be given you in that same hour 

what ye shall speak.

20 For it is not ye that speak, 

but the Spirit of your Father 

which speaketh in you.

We must wait for instructions from the HOLY SPIRIT, who will tell us what to do, what to say, how to be, where to go -- anything that would protect us from the snare of the devil.

All our thoughts, words, and deeds -- as TRUE believers of CHRIST -- must glorify GOD.

We must not trust the world, nor our minds.

But we must be ever-trusting of JESUS.

Pay attention to the PROMISE of JESUS:

Luke 21:17-19 (KJV)

17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

Faith and patience.

Believers of JESUS must have tons of those, for this unseen battle we have on earth.
